Kitesurfing Thailand - 2006 Airush Kites / Boards and Accessories

Airush Kites 2006 airush

We have approached the 2006 range on two levels, we micro-engineered the product by paying close attention to the smallest of details. On the nect level we micro-engineered the line, by developing and enhacing every aspect of performance as much as possible. And of course, the ultimate mission is to bring something new and different that riders haven't considered. We have focused on this without becoming gimmick-driven or losing the core of functionality and performance.

We have targeted safety with the all new Trigger Release system, secured new board technolgies including the introduction of corecell to kiteboard mass production. Our board range includes innovations like park riders the T3 and the Airforce line for the next "kiteration".
Driven by refinements, reinforcements and the idea of making the most performance oriented yet practical kite, the 06 range is another sample of our core slogan, Technical advantage.

Reactor The Reactor is not for everyone. Not everyone wants a kite the turns on a dime and reaches warp speed when blasting through the window. If you enjoy the idea of a nice relaxing session, scroll back a few pages.

Developed with super efficient entry angles and aerodynamic foil profiles, it's all about forward speed and dynamic efficiency. The Reactor has lightning reactions to wind conditions and even faster turning speeds.

A radical new approach to wingtip/span ratio has allowed us to increase the turning speed, while at the same time increasing stability and smoothness.

Another step forward has been to reduce the strut diameter in order to reduce drag on the canopy. To improve the skin stability on the larger sizes, the Reactor features additional struts on the 12 - 21. Ultimately, this increases the total profile stability toward the wingtip area, which in turn reduces the pressure on the rider's arms when turning. This results in improved rider comfort and, ultimately, balance and response.

The Reactor suits advanced riders who prefer the distinctive turning speed and instant power delivery. Used by Wave Guru Felix Pivec for his top-to-bottom wave riding.

WARNING -- The Reactor is extremely sensitive to rider input. For expert use only.

Reactor sizes (m^2): 21 / 18 / 15 / 12 / 9 / 7 / 4

  • A radical new approach to wingtip/span ratio has allowed us to increase the turning speed, stability, and smoothness of the Reactor.
  • Increased canopy struts in the 12 - 21 with reduced diameter. This increases the total skin stability over the kite.
  • The Reactor 18 & 21 both feature a new reduced diameter LE that is developed to be used in conjunction with our 5th line bar. This reduces the overall drag of the kite significantly improving the low wind performance.
  • New wingtip reinforcing and batten insertion system for increased durability.
  • New bladder and LE insertion/closure system for increased bladder durability.

Lift - The Lift offers a perfect blend of pivotal and power turning; the kite turns quickly in the window and injects precise power suited to the most aggressive riding styles. The same characteristics that allow it to fly further forward in the window give it a remarkable upwind edge.

Riders who prefer the Lift tend to ride fast and aggressively. The precision steering and speed through the power window make the Lift suitable for advanced riders and is the preferred kite of our pro freestyle team.

Flow - We made a considerable breakthrough in kites this year. Kites that sit further back in the window with more pivotal turning characteristic do not need to be grunty pigs that pull your arms off and don't go upwind.

The Flow is ideal for riders who want a predictable kite that is great for learning advanced tricks or simply blasting around and having fun.

For 2006 the flow has a finer foil entry, which makes the kite lighter on the bar and gives far more wind range, as the kite can run further forward in the window. This is especially evident in the larger sizes which, combined with an increase in turning speed, have seen significant development on high-wind ease of use.

The 2006 Flow delivers stability and pivotal turning characteristics at a new level of smoothness and rider comfort.

Pilot - We listened to our schools, stores, and rider feedback and a came to a definite conclusion: Entry-level and intermediate riders need wind-range, depower, and responsiveness as much as advanced riders. Without losing focus on stability and ease of use, the '06 Pilot delivers a new level of functionality and performance that will appeal to riders from day one. We have achieved a balance between angle of attack and foil shape to offer a kite with a finer foil entry that still sits back in the power window. As a result, the 2006 Pilot is easier to depower and has improved upwind performance.
